Mick Rock - Rock Diaries

Image of Lou Reed by Mick Rock via Steen og Ström

Trough my membership in "Friends of department store Steen og Ström", I was invited to last night's vernissage of an exhibiton by famed rock photograper Mick Rock called Rock Diaries. The exhibition consists of black and white photographs from the early 1970's of a few rock'n'roll celebrities, mostly Lou Reed, Rod Stewart, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and a few more. Along with a couple of pals I went to have a look:

The pictures are also for sale. The large ones that I really like are NOK 25.000 (~ USD 4200) a piece. That's way over my budget for wall art. Still it was fun just dreaming of putting something wild like these on my wall:

 Iggy Pop in his heyday

David Bowie with pal Mick Ronson in his Ziggy Stardust period

Both of these photos are the same size as the Reed one behind my friends. The exhibition is pretty cool, it's a real piece of rock history. It's open to April 6th.

As a sidenote: Sorry for the lousy image quality of my pictures. It was impossible to use flash and that caused a real bad camera shake. I need a new lens with better aperture, and I've already found one that I want. But that's another story which hopefully I will be able to show the results of after my trip to New York.
