2 down - 3 to go!

No dirt inside, please!

Every 6 months I have to go for a check-up at the Cancer Centre. That's  a routine which lasts for 5 years before one can officially be declared "completely healthy". I always feel a little anxious whenever I'm going there. After all, there's the risk, however small, that the cancer will recur. But the more time that passes, the less likely it is. With this visit, it's been exactly two years - give or take a couple of days - since I finished my treatment. According to the doctor, everything looks fine. So two years down, three to go!

After the visit, outside the CC (how's that for irony), sporting my new gym bag on my way to the pool:

Wearing: Winter white wool coat, Dontella Versace for Victoria's Secret, grey beanie from Accessorize, black/grey/white patterned scarf and grey gloves from H & M, winter white cardi from Vila, skinny jeans from Cubus, boots from Marc Bohan and purple frame sunglasses from Gucci (2009 collection).

After a long stint in the pool, feeling energized and also inspired by the good test results, I went to the grocery store and got some really healthy stuff for dinner. However, seeing something new that I haven't tried before in the chocolaterack, I just couldn't help thinking I deserved a dessert:

I have no good excuse though, as to why this ended up as an entrée instead! All I can say is YUM! :D

  1. Yeah for 2 years cancer free! I can't wait to get to the point that I can celebrate with totally unhealthy stuff. (going for my first post chemo blood tests next week)

Cheers and it is indeed always the oven because it sure as heck isn't me!

  3. Congratulations! I'm not surprised these visits are nerve-wracking - 5 years is a long time to wait for that all clear.
Gwen, we are sending you good vibes too.
